You know Bass Pro owns Cabela's right?
Oddly enough, GM closed an older store in Aurora, CO and opened up a brand new megastore here in Parker, CO., only about 12 miles from the nearest Cabela's in Lone Tree that happens to be the largest Cabela's in the country.
False. Report came out last week that the merger is on the rocks. If I recall correctly, problems selling off Cabela's credit card/finance division separately and regulatory issues.
I been getting a lot of $20 off $100 emails recently from Gander Mountain. I was wondering if they were in trouble. As stated earlier, the Academy in Newnan is always busy. GM, is a ghost town. The only things I have purchased from them are a Diamond bow that was on clearance for 60% off and a kids bow a few months later because I got a "free" full size bow case with it. My son had been wanting a bow so he could shoot with me anyway so for $15 why not. Guns and ammo are all overpriced.
I went into the Gander Mountain in Henry County the other day for the first time. Had a great conversation with an employee near the gun counter... concerned scope mount wasn't tall enough but that's a different story. He was saying the news they received is that they tried to open too many stores in a short period of time, and have now hired on consultants to figure out how to set everything straight. He wasn't concerned about his store closing as they do pretty well.
I stand corrected. I thought the deal had closed.
No problem, Brother. It's a crazy time. I wouldn't have known it myself, but I stumbled up on the story.
You guys know that bankruptcy is not going to put them out of business, right?
