Garand or AR

Garand.

On the negative side is the cost of ammo and having to stock 2 calibers instead of one.

Just to muddy the choice more - if you choose to stick with .223 get a mini-14 which uses the Garand style action.

Good luck with your choice!

Garand for nostalgia, AR for practicality and ammo prices. I was at Riverbend Gun Club one day shooting and I saw Garand on a stand and the guy that owned it was sitting beside the stand it was sitting on. I went over there to inspect it and it looked too good. I asked him what the situation with it they told me he ordered it off of a site that was selling Surplus Garands. He managed to score one that was brand new still in the cosmoline bag. I've never seen one that clean or that nice before it was unbelievable said he paid a little under $1,000 for it. If I had a chance to score a rifle like that I would heartbeat but not knowing what I'm getting is a setback for myself .
