Garand if you have the ammo for it… if you have a good collection of ammo for your AR… then maybe it’s safer (due to the current ammo situation) to get another AR… buying the Garand is the cheap part… to me… ammo is the expensive part. Either will be fun though!

In all seriousness, this is what I would do: Buy the Garand, flip it, sell your current AR and get a nicely set up AR with the amassed funds. Thank me later.

I second this.

Get something like a Geissele, Daniel Defense, FN or BCM … if you can afford it and find it, get a KAC.
Get a good optic, Get a good sling.

I’d say both , I love the M1 rifle but would choose AR over M1 for SHTF situation unless punching through heavy cover then use M1 with black tip
