Generator Thread ....When the power goes out...

Just buy a quality transfer panel and have an electrician wire it in (if you’re not comfortable doing it yourself).
Isolates your circuits from the grid.
Sounds great but with current conditions, That is impossible. I just need to find a reasonable electrician I can trust and pay to get it done.

That was a steal of a decade!
They had at least a container full that they were actioning off. The first few went in the 900-1000 range, after that they headed down. I just waited thinking that no way would all of them sell. When it hit $400 they stopped the auction and said anybody that wants one at $400 could buy but that they were stopping the sale. Some individuals weren't happy since they had bid all the way up to $1000.

I am settling on the Westinghouse generator for $1000 before sales as a best bang for a buck. It is also one of the most fuel efficient generators.
Found a 100LB tank with wheels, capable of running vertical or horizontal for $280.
Can put in the tilt trailer to fill it up at the Tractor Supply. Not a great price, will need to watch for sales.
Another $300 to hook up transfer switch to the house.

Then whatever it takes to connect the propane tank.
