So I am not familiar but have heard about Glock .22 conversion. Where can you find them? Which models are they available for? Are they worth the money or just a waste? Give your opinion about them please!

Thanks

I have one from advantage arms. It is for my G19.

It works OK.. with one BIG caveat. It must have remington round nose golden bullets. It won't cycle anything else I have found.

They are great for getting used to the trigger reset. The feel of the trigger is the same, but the weight and balance of the gun are not.

Ramroddoc has a great thread from a long time back on how to file away part of the mag and make them cycle better.

22s are just finicky. 22 conversions usually are more finicky than most other stuff.

hey bud! For the price you pay for a conversion kit...you could buy 1000 rounds of ammo and not have a different weight, recoil, or balance. I say this because most consider the conversions for cheaper training and such at the range. If you just want a .22 pistol then I'll sell you mine. haha.

I have seen the Advantage Arms run $200-$250. The benefit is it mimics the slide outline exactly and when shooting rapid close defensive style the outline of the slide and grip are what is used to fire shots on target. The slide is aluminum so the recoil is felt and moves the gun enough so you can train riding the recoil for rapid multiple shots.

They will run 40 grain solids pretty good and Blazer's cheap lead 40 grain work great. I just shot a couple of hundred last Sunday-great weather BTW.

You can do some modifications that really help this kit run better that are easy. You can also modify the magazines to allow 15 rounds. I did a gun review on this kit. It's in the gun review section.

If you don't want to mess with it the best alternative is the S&W .22LR M&P pistol 12 rounds. Those things run crap ammo and are threaded, just need a $30 adapter to muffle it.

Edit:

Here is the thread: http://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/threads/31926-ADVANTAGE-ARMS-Glock-17-22-Conversion-Kit

Want no cost 13-14 round AA magazines or 15 rounders with some coin spent? http://www.theoutdoorstrader.com/threads/454026-Make-a-15-round-magazine-10-RD-Advantage-Arms?p=2431320#post2431320

A tip, use the Remington Golden bullets and shoot a few hundred. The gold crap gets everywhere and really points out where the right side of the magazine needs plastic removed with a file from the obvious drag marks.

Warning DO NOT Do this in a communist controlled state as you would be ......
