Glock 42 Image

I sure am glad that, unlike you, when I go into the bathroom, I do not come out with a desire to belittle others and point out every error in their posts... :boink:

And just to chime in......I can't for the life of me understand Glock's thinking on the .380....unless, like dougiemac said, they have some back door dealing going on with loneWolf. In the same sized platform, I'll take 9x19 anyday for a variety of reasons....and this coming froma guy who routinely carries a PPK.

If it works I think Glock will do alright with this pistol. I keep hearing how Glock missed the boat with this .380, but almost every company so far that has sold a pocket .380 lately has done pretty well. Ruger entered the market with only Kel-Tec and Kahr to contend with and did very well. A few years later S&W released their Bodyguard .380 and again it sold very well. Glock will most likely do the same. This pistol should be priced between $350 and $399 (here on OTD it will sell for $550FIRM), and at the $350 to $399 price point it will compete with the Bodyguard. Like the other companies that made a pocket .380 it seems the natural progression is to move on to 9mm and .40. I don't think this will be any different for Glock. Who knows, maybe Glock will announce a 9mm single at the NRA show.

I agree it's a stepping stone for the next platforms. Though I think the timeline will be a little bit longer. They will release this model, let it be the craze for a couple of years, then come out with the single stack 9mm. Make more money, then come out with the .40. It's just job security, though I doubt glock needs that.
