Glock 42 Image

but yet we are all wondering and talking about it in anticipation of spending our $$ on it - " marketing "

Eh, not many people on here really feel "married" to most guns. If I don't end up liking it, I can sell it and only lose a little cash. No big deal.

380, who cares, POS.
Why not just import a G25?
And how is this supposed to be any better the a older P230/P232 or PPK/S?
I guess Glock has been seeking advertising advice from Sig's Exeter HQ.
Next we'll see hot pink or orange Glocks

Glock is just responding to the market. It looks like a lot of people just dont like the recoil of a small 9mm. Note that Ruger now has a larger 380. I think they will sell a boatload of them all over the world. People who like Glocks will buy them because of the name.

If you have to use a 380, then a flat point bullet and eye socket hits are the way to go. Buffalo bore makes a good cast bullet load that I would use if it feeds. Hollow points would be second as they dig in better and wont bounce of a skull as easily.

I use the G26 as it is as small a pistol that I can make good hits with.

I think we will see a 9mm version as the demand is there.

Not trying to be insulting but this has me laughing at work.

Most self-defense instructors emphasize center of mass shots and specifically teach away from banking on head shots. You are advocating EYE SOCKET shots? Add that to the inherent inaccuracies of a tiny, pocket pistol, with the shortest barrel length, sight radius, grip(controllability) and snappy recoil to size ratio and shoot for the eye?

OH! And not to mention that if you are shooting someone with a pocket .380 they are most likely DAMN CLOSE and THREATENING you. Yeah...lots of time to aim and place that shot right in the eye.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Thanks bro!

12 pages of G42 bashing and I do not see one post of anybody shooting one yet but all criticize like they have owned one and shot thousands of rounds down the barrel. Well I own one and have put thousands of rounds down the barrel (not one failure). My wife wanted a carry gun and we rented many 380, 9mm and a few .40 cal pocket guns. She liked the lower recoil of the .380 pocket guns. My boys and myself are Glock fans I carry a G22 with several mods and both my boys carry G22's one stock, one with slight mods. We do not think Glocks are particularly good looking guns but customer service is second to none and the gun goes boom each and every time the trigger is pulled it is basically the AK47 of the pistol world and for that reason we carry Glocks. My wife wanted something a little better looking but decided on the Glock because of its reputation. She was one of the first to get a G42 in GA that I know of and paid $450 for it. We shot it for months and she carried it, well she likes to train with it and it is not a target pistol and it is really not that much fun to shoot many rounds through it, so she got some mag extensions for it when they finally came out and that helped with target shooting immensely. Now she has moved on to a Springfield XDS 9mm 4inch and loves that gun (long story that I am not even sure I understand completely, the mind of a woman....oh well). Every single person that shot the G42 loved it and many of these people already had pocket guns but all said they would love to have the G42. Now you say they are just being polite, maybe but after a few shots that smile tells me they are sincere. I took over carrying the G42 mainly cause I like the little bugger and it is easier to conceal in summer cloths then the G22. The G22 is my cold weather carry gun/truck gun. Now I know most are not fans of the .380 but a properly placed bullet will stop 99% of the bad guys and for those that it does not I can pack a lot more kinetic energy from my fist and 6'3" 280 pounds of pissed off adrenaline filled protect my self and family mindset then any .380. No matter what you choose to carry practice with it, shoot it often become comfortable with it and get some training in some form of self defense, pay attention to your surroundings, use common sense, hell maybe move to a better area if you have crack heads, meth heads on every corner but get prepared. Carry on
