That's your next step and again easy to do, for a couple bucks it makes a BIG difference....

Glocks are about as simple and straight forward to work on as it gets, if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. Your LGS will do it for you, most of them have the sight pusher

I've put an OEM extended slide stop on every Glock I've owned. I LOVE that thing!

Like I said, I've never done sights before, but don't the Gen4 front sights require a nut driver?

The first slide stop went in easy, but the pin on my 17 will not move.
Any ideas on how to free the pin?

Move the slide stop as you are tapping the pin.
Tap harder.

This, wiggle the slide stop up and down as you are pushing on the pin and it should go in. Make sure that you are not pinching the wire piece
