Is the trigger bar correctly connected to the trigger mechanism housing? I had something like this on my 19x and didn't realize that I did my have them connected correctly. I know the gen 4 is not the same set up, but though I'd ask.
Check the slide lock to make sure it’s not flipped around. The grooved side faces the chamber. Then, make sure the slide lock is all the way up when the slide and frame are assembled. Photos for reference:

Thanks guys yes- I’ve tried three different slide locks and all are installed correctly and none of three have corrected the issue. The idea is a good one about the trigger but that all seems perfect. In fact if I remove the trigger all together the slide and frame still don’t fit correctly
