Going to see family in PA and taking toys

Don't believe I would be caught with a handgun in either Mass. NY or Conn.

When I lived in NY I had a concealed carry permit. Any gun you owned had to be listed on the back of the permit. If you got caught carrying one which was not listed, it was the same as carrying without a permit.

Even if not carrying? I would not dare try the commies on carrying. Was going to keep in truck box locked in a case till i can return to the free states. Less than 36 hrs in Mass. Thx

You are burdened with knowing the patch work of laws that infringe our 2a rights for each and every state and in some cases the municipal laws (city-Philly) as they are often more restrictive as well as know exactly when the law changes.

Use great caution and check the restrictions in each and every state you have to cross.

A carry permits frees up a bunch of restrictions so if you have one check reciprocity.

If I may grab some info on top of this. I have read a good bit trying to figure this out. I am traveling to Boston to take daughter to college. Driving up and back over 5 days. Want to take pistol. Was planning to take g43 and lock it seperate from the ammo while in communist states. This should be legal correct? Thank odt

It may not be legal if Mass. is your destination state.

First the federal travel exemption doesn't apply, and secondly, Mass. is notorious for ignoring the federal travel exemption.

You could make an argument that you are on one extended "trip". Making that argument could cost you $25-50 thousand.

Not sure on the laws regarding "passing through" , but in NY you could not purchase or own a handgun without a state concealed carry permit.
When I moved to Georgia in 1980, I did not know the gun laws here so I called the Sheriffs office in the town I was moving to. Asked him what I had to do to bring my guns to Georgia.
He said "bring em on down, and welcome to the south! Been here ever since.

If you get lost and wind up in NJ, you better not be white and Christian...... If you are some "refugee" terrorist from some ****ty Muslim hell hole, you should be good to do anything you want.

Not just NO but HECK NO.

You could probably be OK driving through Mass to a free state like NH or Maine or VT, so long as you don't stop or get stopped. Mass is like NJ, they tend to ignore the FOPA laws until you get lawyers involved.

However you are stopping in a state where there's no legal way you can have ANY kind of firearm, since you are not a Mass resident and don't have an exemption for a match. This is a first-offense felony of either 5 or 10 years (I forget what it was when I left there).

In fact don't even have pepper spray or a stun gun or knives or really anything that could be considered a weapon. Almost everything there requires a license, and if you don't have one, you are going to be spending a long time in a very small room with some new friends.

Sadly this was what i was thinking but was hoping for good news. Sad in this great nation your rights can be so restricted from one state to another. Thanks all

Definitely correct.

Those northeast states are some commie bastards. Don't even think of taking any gun up there.

The funny thing is that some of the NE states have literally the best gun laws in the US.

Maine is rated better than GA in the latest Guns and Ammo, and Vermont literally has NO laws that aren't required by the feds, strong preemption and have had Constitutional Carry literally since day one. NH is more like GA, but is definitely at-risk, with all the MA##holes moving there to escape income taxes.

It's basically the 'belt' from Mass south to DC that sucks... and of course NY.
