I have a box of 30-06 that has $8.94 tag on it. I can remember getting 22lr bricks of Thunderbolt for $5 and thinking that $0.79/box was high (think we still have some at the land). Of course, I had a 100 pack of 12 ga bird shot that cost me $5.99 that I loaned to a buddy to go trap shooting with a couple of years ago and was shocked that he replaced it with a box that was $23. He even commented that prices had gone up.
BTW, Gander Mountain had Federal 22lr 525 bulk packs for $24.99 today and there were about 20 boxes put out. They had a lot of CCI for $7.99/pack.

I didn't take a pic, but a few years ago my father in law gave me an Ruger Mk 1 and a couple boxes of random ammo. One was a box of .38 with a $2.99 sticker on it from JCPenney. I'm 44, and don't remember them ever selling firearms.
