Good value/performance scope?

I have used Simmons for years with no issues not the best but far from the worst IMO

I have a Pentax 4-12 x40 gameseaker on my flattop Ar with bushmaster risers and I Hate it ! I will probably end up with a lower end Leupold or nikon and change risers to one that mounts scope more forward. On 12 x the pentax has no eye relief and the crosshairs fade.I'm really dissapointed,and its ugly.
