My stepfather in 1979 turned onto Gordon Lightfoot. First album he gave me was Gard’s Gold. I wore that album out.
RIP Gordy…

I loved those two songs he's best known for : The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and Sundown. "If you could read my mind, Love" was excellent too.

I Googled him just a few months ago to see if he was still alive because I was thinking about him and went to YouTube to watch a version of his Edmund Fitzgerald song.

I was lucky enough to take my Stepfather and Mother to see him at the Cobb Energy Center in 2008. Man he had so many great songs!
My favorites were:
If you could read my mind
Sundown
The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Carefree Highway
Early Morning Rain
For Loving Me
To name a few….

Wow… that is one I never got the pleasure of seeing live. I have been to a whole bunch of shows and met a lot of musicians and performers in my life but not him . He was one of the greats that I am sad I missed .
I hope the Lord blesses his family and helps them over the pain during such a trying time in life
