Got new respect for Larry Vickers

I've trained with Vickers and with cmshoot cmshoot and for that matter side by side with cmshoot in a Vickers class. For who I'd train with again, it's cmshoot and it isn't close. For a guy to sit around and listen to him tell stories, LAV would get the nod. Take that for what it's worth.

Thanks! FWIW, I outshot Vickers that weekend........I was keeping score. LOL

Well there’s a reason there’s not many “Larry Vickers” out there. There are plenty of CAG operators or retired operators, but most continue to live the life of a silent professional. Vickers acting like a diva SEAL, getting all churched up for holly wood lol. He’s still a long-tabber though.

When I went through the training for the FAMS back in 2002, nearly all our Instructors were retired/former Delta guys. They were all in their 40’s and 50’s, and they were all in outstanding shape. They were also consummate professionals who knew their stuff frontwards and backwards. I had a lot of respect for them all.

One of the Instructors was older than the rest. He was a former French Foreign Legion para and MACV-SOG.

I don't understand the cult of gun gurus or why he'd frame a video this way. The man had a tremendous military career to make it where he did in the Army, which is about all I know about him. I think he used to customize 1911s in Fayetteville for a little while, didn't he?

He makes a nice sling, though. LOL!

I'll pitch in right here and agree. The Vickers sling is nice. Apparently he has conjured up quite a few nice accessories, according to plenty of folks, but I can personally attest to his sling. I really like it. I have also been eyeballing his Wilson combat elite Glock sights. They look like a winner. We shall see. I just ordered a set. LOL

Other than that I know very little about him, and could care less. There's plenty of bad asses in the world.

And I have lost 50 pounds over the past 1.5 years. Eating right was the key for me, coupled with exercise.
