Gun buyback scheduled for Feb. 9th in College Park

to rescue

What can they arrest you for?

Yeah, private deals don't violate laws in GA. Heck we all might as well set up a tent and table outside the event and offer "Free Appraisals" to the ones turning in guns.
I posted before that we should organize our own buyback program.
I'm all for going to this one with a fist full of gift cards!

I would think that, before you were arrested, some sort of warning would be made. In states where FTF sales are legal, there are several instances of individual sales before the turn in. Distance would probably be key... you wouldn't want to stand at the front of the line offering cash for guns!

My plan is to only offer free appraisals... if one of our appraisers would care to make an offer to buy well that would be a private transaction and none of mine or anyone else's business.
I agree that distance would be key, hence why I suggest a tent and table with clear signage as to our intent.

And then you would be fined for failure to obtain a permit of some such....

I dont see how you can be arrested for obstruction when there is no justice to be served. It not law to turn them in and its not against the law to buy privately.

The only thing they may get you for is some type of solicitation fine.

Pass out handbills with a piece of candy attached saying something like: "Check with us at 123 Main Street for top dollar paid on serviceable firearms." or "Hey dip**** we pay more."

The problem is private citizens can't run serial numbers and I have no need or desire for stolen firearms.

You could offer free appraisals but you would have to let them say "OK I'll sell it to you for xx dollars".

I like "hey dip****" we pay more" better. Hey if your turning in a $500 pistol for a $100 gift card, well, your a dip****
There has got to be a way for us citizens to run or get a number ran to find out if it stolen?
