Gun Shows: Does Anyone Go Anymore?

The last time I went to a gun show, I wound up buying one from CGP's table! LOL
I remember time gone by where you could get good ammo deals and steal a deal an hour before closing. I guess the Internet is our gun show now.

For something a little different, you might try this show:
Blairsville. Pat Haralson Civic Center, 165 Welborn St. 100+ 8' tbls: $50, 5+ $40. Set-up: Friday 3 pm -9 pm, Saturday 6:30 am - 8 am. Show: Saturday 9 am - 5 pm, Sunday 10 am - 4 pm. Adm: $8 for 2 days, kids under 10: Free. Price includes raffle ticket. www.NGAgunshow.com
Look me up and I'll give you a free ticket (Not good for anything, its just free)

I used to go to a few around the Metro Atlanta Area, but haven't in over three years (prices just got to far out of line with reality!).

Anything different these days? Worth going to for reloading supplies / firearms?

Comments?
HAVEN'T BEEN TO ONE IN 15 YRS.NOTHING THERE I CAN'T GET CHEAPER ON LINE OR IN PAWN SHOPS WITHOUT PAYING FOR PARKING AND TO GET IN. PLUS I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY CAR GETTING BROKE INTO.

I like to go to the big RK shows down at the Expo Center, but that's about the only shows I go to anymore. While $12 is steep to walk thru the door, I'm usually there for 3-4 hours, I like hanging out and talking with fellow gun folks, and I usually learn a thing or two. If I happen to find a deal or two, that's cool, but just getting out of the house and enjoying a morning looking at guns is fine with me.

You can't go to the movies for $12 these days.
THE LAST MOVIE THEATER I WAS IN ,I SAW THE GRADUATE. GOOD MOVIE

Hi. My name is Ed. I am a gun show addict. I am recovering. I was one that hit every show from Rome, GA to the Expo (Jonesboro/Atlanta), Blairsville, Blue Ridge, Gainesville, Marietta and all points in between. I am (still) recovering. I saw the decrease in 'gun' tables, increase in 'jewelry' tables, increase in admission fees. I am (still, still) recovering. Went mainly to gain knowledge. Got to put my hands on some firearms and optics that I had read about, lusted over, and finally ruled out after seeing them up close. (Probably saved a lot of money that way.) My two favorite shows were Gainesville and Expo - why, the FOOD VENDOR!!! (Gotta get the Nathan's dogs at G'ville and meatballs at the Greek guy in the back at Expo.) As for admission price - had I gone shooting, a mag of .223 would have cost me more that $8.00 and lasted less than 5 minutes. (lasted less than 5 minutes - sounds familiar, hmmm!) A few mags of .45acp -pffff. My .338 LM - well.... I have certainly gained an education. Sometimes an expensive one...but probably saved me from future mistakes. Why go? Depends on what you are looking for. Deals are out there. Meeting and speaking with vendors, collectors, buyers/users have broadened my base and narrowed my scope. Perhaps the only thing I regret is not getting that 3rd Nathan's dog! I am recovering.
