My wife and I are leaving our rental home and will be temporary moving to an apartment, while we look for a place to buy a home. The problem is that the apartment is on the 3rd floor and my 600 pound liberty safe with not be moving up the 3 flights of stairs with us. We have to rent a storage unit for all the stuff we are not moving into the apartment. Do yall have any experience leaving guns in a storage unit? and or have any other good ideas for potential storage for guns and safe.
Thanks,
Kevin

Better than nothing. I favor alarm systems first, Ring cameras second and safes third for "security." You are more likely to suffer loss from fire than theft. You want a good fire rated safe to protect those difficult to replace. Insure all of them (if that even needs saying.)

In the process of taking pictures of guns and scopes with serial numbers.
I will definitely be getting insurance, And will bring my class 3 stuff with me to the apartment.

I'd store them at a friends house

Find a friend with a nice big safe and pay him to store them

If you can't do that I'd get a cell phone and a Ring alarm / camera for the storage unit .
So if someone breaks in you will be notified and have video feed

If the clerks or any customers at the storage unit we your gun safe or suspect guns are in your unit
It WILL get broken into

Guns in rugs or cases inside wardrobe boxes, ammunition goes into reinforced cookware boxes. Haven't had a problem in 30+ years of moving and/or storage.
