Gunpowder Shelf Life

What, the manufacturer may know more about their product than a bunch of quasi-literate internet commandos he doesn't know from Adam?

Just from my own habits. I have bought powder and have not loaded it from the first opening till the last grain 3 yrs to 5 yrs. since purchase and have had no problems by doing so. that is with rifle and pistol powders, I buy a lot at a time and by doing that they waive the hazmat and shipping charges. I won't say who it is because everyone will want theirs to be waived/worked into the price. but I on several occasions placed orders for 4/5 thousand dollars at a time for primers powder and projectiles. I have also had .50bmg ammo dated from the 40's and it shot with no problems. As long as its sealed kept cool and dry I don't see a problem after all when its loaded I would think you would have more of a chance of controlling the storage conditions as before its opened and laying around. hope this helps.
