Guns you just can't warm up to

Not actually a gun I can't warm up to.
More like one that suddenly gives me cold chills.
Discovered a CNBC report from about 5 yrs ago
concerning Remington 700 misfires and
Remington's apparent coverup.

First I've heard of it, so checking to see if it's
general knowledge and I'm only one that didn't
get the memo OR should I post a link for others
particularly 700 owners that also may be unaware?
Might help prevent an injury or worse.

I would take any report from any of the mainstream mass hysteria media about guns and consider it BS. Guns are inherently dangerous. Follow the basic safety course regiment every time and if your gun does malfunction you will be fine. A few million 700 Remingtons were made with the (OMG it's disaster waiting to happen safties) and I've never had one brought into my shop with a malfunction. They say the same thing about the 600 Remington. If you have one that is now keeping you up at night with fear it will go off by itself. I will come with a secured box to take it away and even give you a gift certificate to Red Lobster. I hear their Cheesy garlic rolls help with settling nerves. It's a public service I do. You know because I care and all.

If it's what Im thinking of this was years ago. Some teenager killed a little girl when the gun went off, another a lady killed her daughter. Remington had tons of documentation about it but lied and hid it to hedge repair and ultimately huge lawsuit costs.

Thanks Gordy & RCD for help with the 600/700 Rem oops-bang inquiry.
First time I've heard of it and since it came out several years ago was
wondering if any further developments pro or con.

Hooold on there, Baba Louie!
Compton sounds like you are the one over-reacting not Freedom. (jmho)
Perhaps if the original post had more besides "Canik Muslim Garbage"
there would be less room for misunderstanding your meaning. You know,
some explanation of why that was your viewpoint. First hand experience
w/Canik firearms
or what you saw when you toured the Canik factory.
Further more Freedom said he was just guessing. Maybe a bad guess
but definitely in most courts would not be ruled as slamming your character.

Now as far as guns you or I can't warm up to (thread topic) Canik is made
in Turkey but some other entity has distribution rights in U.S.A. Can't
remember which group that is at the moment but they are most likely
the ones unreachable for warranty work or customer support. Only reason
I throw in my 2 cents is I have a Tristar made by Canik and I love it.

Turkey makes a lot of great guns. ISO 9001 certified military contractors, and a lot of other brands are made there under different labels. Canik and TriStar are great... The Winchester SXP Defenders are made there... Lots of O/U shotties...

I have yet to ever have an issue with a Turkish gun...
