Either. If you bring a self addressed stamped envelope they'll mail it. If not, you've got to go to Pryor St. and pick it up.
Mine expires in June I'm going to get the new one. I grew fond of the old style cards. In Bartow I applied on a Monday the next Monday it was in the mail I was also told recently they moved it up to 2 weeks now. I figured I would go at least a month in advance to renew
Took me a little over a month in Floyd county last October.
Two to three months. I applied in October, picked up in December. Might be faster if you give them the envelope to mail it when it arrives, but I forgot the envelope and had to call to check in to see if it was ready. Think I checked every few weeks.
This thread reminded me of my first experience, carrying my license. The wife sent me to the package store to pick up drinks for the Christmas dinner we were hosting. When I got to the register, I realized I left my drivers license in the car, but I had my carry license in my wallet. I gave it to the clerk. she says, we can't accept this, only driver's licenses. I thought it was any state issued/government ID, but didn't want to argue, so got ready to go to the car to grab it and she says hold on and grabs the police officer to ask if it was acceptable. He say's sure, but then asks if i'm carrying! I almost pooped on myself because I didn't know how to answer, I froze. Didn't know if it was illegal to carry in a package store. Thankfully he starts laughing and says don't worry about it. Lesson: be mindful of what you carry and where!!!
