H&K SP5 barrel question

A while back I bought a SP5 here on the trader. Didn’t notice the barrel thread protector was missing. Ordered one from HKParts (1/2x28) that they say is correct for the gun. When screwed on there are 3-4 threads still exposed. Attaching pic. Is something missing? Does anyone have one that could send me some pics of theirs? Thanks
