Wow, this poll went south on me. To be clear, I have ONLY seen the trailer. I have not seen the movie or read the story. I was simply suspicious of the anti-gun timing and was curious on what you all thought. However, after seeing a lot of your comments, I feel a change of heart and probably need to do some more research on this and see the film. This man is a hero! That's not what I intended to throw out there, simply the timing of a gun-hating theme on a major blockbuster days before the election.

Those dam dems, I'm hungry now and headed out for tacos.....LOL

The timing and movie could be a Hollywood anti-gun thing. I haven't seen it. But the man himself was a hero by every measure of the word. He was a Seventh Day Adventist who chose to enlist in the Army as a combat medic and vowed not to kill.

I went through boot camp at Fort Benning in '81 with an older guy (mid 30's seemed old to me at 18) who was prior service and saw action in the Dominican Republic and in Vietnam...he wore his Combat Medical Badge, Second Award instead of the more common Combat Infantryman Badge (which also had) and even the drill sergeants showed him a certain level of respect.
Is the movie Hollywood anti-gun propaganda? Maybe, but that doesn't take away from what this guy did.
