Hanging stands

I use the stick ladder from Wallyworld when I use a lock on, as someone else has mentioned. I also use the ratchet strap as a back up to the chain that comes with the stand. Always use a safety harness. I really don't trust the screw in steps. I'm a heavier guy at 268#.
If you're going to hunt out of a ladder stand I'd be sure and put it where you want it way before the season opens. Opinions vary greatly on that subject but that's what I would do.
