Heavy 45 Colt loads

Those are formidable looking chunks of lead. As for issues with 45 Colt brass loaded at magnum velocities, the brass is weak in the web area compared to modern high pressure designs, but I've not experienced any problems loading the old timer up to all it's capable of burning, and still being able to seat the bullet in a revolver. The the stronger case, along with the small rifle primer just seems like a bit of extra strength and reliablity. It may also allow a heavier crimp. It's likely not worth doing, money wise anyway. But if I get a chance, I believe I'll give it a whirl.
