So knowing what you know, why would you buy the Sportsman guide special? I have a feeling this problem will be much more common with the prices dropping on AR's and some of the lower tier guys going cheap to try and stay in business.
The list of ones I trust would be a whole lot easier. There are just too many bad ones to actually name them all. And as soon as I tried, more would crop up. They're like mushrooms after a rain.Nicely writtenmtdawg169 ! Which parts manufacturers would you suggest to stay away from?

Thanks for the link. But comparing lowers is barely scratching the surface. Lower parts kits, barrels, bolt carrier groups, buffer kits, etc are an even greater problem.
I was using the "CHART" in 2004 to build my first. Wonder if it is still around?
As with anything, routine maintenance and proper assembly technique is critical with any moving parts.
How often do you see a poorly maintained weapon fail versus a properly maintained?

Found it. Tons of information, and may hurt the feelings of some mid level (sold to them as bestest ever) AR owners.
