HELP…Installing new thermostat

Is the unit a two stage compressor? If so, yellow should be in Y2.

Yellow is your AC. White is the heat. So if AC isn't on, Yellow is in the wrong place.

It's possible thermostat is just bad. I bought a metal detector the other day. A very, very expensive one...at least for me. I spent nearly four hours futzing around with it. I was convinced it was me. Finally put it all in the back, took back to the store. Came home and the new one worked immediately out of the box. Could just be a dud. It appears to me that you've hooked it up correctly. But I'm a shade tree HVAC at best....just changed a few thermostats over the years.

With the white wire in W, try the Yellow in Y and then Y2 If that doesn't work, the move the white wire to W2 and then Yellow to Y and Y2. If none of that works, I'm out of my depth, because they should.....of course if you're sure the breaker isn't tripped.

My guess is W2 & Y2 and it works.

Wayminnit, wayminnit. White wire to AUX. Blue wire to C, yellow wire to Y. Leave the brown wire out.

Call Honeywell customer service. Had to do this on a thermostat years ago. They were good back then…

Heat pump

You'll most likely need to change the programming of the thermostat to work with the heat pump.

Had one recently that went nuts after a power blip and turned the heat on instead of AC. It had lost it's config.

you have to tell it what kind of system it is controlling.
Should be in the paperwork if it came with any.
If not....google the part number and download the instructions.
