I have a Super Duty that I am wanting to change the flash hider on but can't get the dang thing off. Anyone local to Rome Ga able to do it or have any advice. I've tried heat and soaking in water for 30 min but nothing is working.

Are you sure it's not pin and welded?

If it is, it will need to have the pin drilled out before you can remove it.

Is it a 14.5" barrel? If it is and it isn't a NFA gun, it's pinned and welded.

Good question. It is an 11.5" barrel so I wouldn't expect it would be pinned and welded. There is a small dimple in the bottom that can be seen in the pic but I don't think that is a weld.

Don't worry about gun smiths, heating it up and going crazy. It's just rocksett on the threads.

Let the end of your barrel sit in water for 12 hours, it will weaken the rocksett. Should come right off.
