Help! Mauser trigger/cocking piece problem

I was going to type an explanation of what was going on. But this video covers it well. Many parts are fitted on these guns, and why folks like to see "all matching numbers" as the fitted parts all carry the last few numbers of the serial number.



eta: Does your cocking piece show wear in the safety engagement area?
 
Apologies for not responding i didnt have a notification. No parts really showed wear the best i can tell but either part was obviously out of spec. I replaced the safety lever as its the only available part that the internet agrees interchanges between different makes of mausers and the new safety did cause the symptom in the video. Good thing i already watched it tryimg to troubleshoot the first problem. After some fitting, the safety engaged normally and the sear and cocking piece are no longer touching but i believe the clearance is still below whatever the specification is
