Thanks. I'm really hoping it's something simple. I really like this rig.Iam going with bad filter pickup tube leaking air,
I would clean everything and put the old transmission fluid back in if it's only got 3k on it.

I would be inclined to agree however it comes and goes and goes away in drive and reverse.Sounds like somthing is "self clearancing" itself.....it'll be aight in about a month or so...lol
I went around the entire chassis last night and this morning with the stethoscope. No irregular sounds throughout the entire exhaust.have had the inside of the catalytic converter come apart and sound a lot like a bad flywheel. Might be worth checking
I'll check those out in the morning. Should be able to tell with the stethoscope, right?Trans coolant lines rattling at low rpm ?????
Thank you. I'll look for a deep pan. The most I'd tow is a motorcycle or small camper. On a side note. For many years I owned a 93 with the 4L60E transmission. The transmissions would go out very 4 years due to excessive heat. It was only used for occasional towing. If you are going to drop the pan anyways, replace the stock pan with an extra deep pan. More fluid equals less time the fluid spends inside the transmission, equals cooler transmission.
The installation of an additional transmission cooler and the ability to monitor transmission temperature is a great investment. Even if it is just a 200F snap switch turning on a supplemental idiot light on the dash.
Above 200F is the key. High transmission temperature, especially above 200°F, can cause significant damage and lead to failures because the lubricating and friction-fighting properties of the fluid break down, leading to problems like varnish formation, seal hardening, and burning of internal components
