Help! Vacations that aren't the beach?!

I think we might do a couple of days in the Chattanooga area and then a couple in the Pigeon Forge area.

The River Journey portion of the aquarium is awesome. I can spend hours in there.

Opryland is nice. Above average cost, but not over the top. Once you get tired of exploring the hotel, plenty to do in Nashville.

Chattanooga - Aquarium, Look Out Mountain, Boat Rides, Discovery Zone, or Gatlinburg. Both would be very good.. Both towns have cool baseball parks if there is a game in town.

Blowing rock, nc.. Grandfather mountain ( mile high bridge and zoo), blue ridge parkway, with tons of day hikes. It is 10-15 degrees cooler and low humidity. There are also a couple lakes in the area for canoe or kayaking.

Shopping for the wife and ale houses for the evening.
