Ok, this is not in my collection. I am trying to help a widow determine the value of a gun owned by her late husband. Black powder is definitely not my area of expertise. Best I can figure from the pics (that I did not take), is this was manufactured by Brunker in Ottawa, Illinois. The company was around from 1849 to 1871. I will try to get a photo of the lock side, but suspect it is percussion cap. If you have mastered the "Googles" on the Interweb machine, you might be able to find something I can't. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the Flickr lead. I like this brochure. More gun companies need to sell "Philosophical Instruments and Pocket Cutlery." Something could be learned from this marketing!
