Well it a comes down to their lack of infrastructure. I'm no telephone or Internet tech and this might not be "how things work" but everyone I know that has Windstream has the same problem you described. They must cut one off to give another service and it's a vicious cycle of everyone calling in and getting the other people shut off so they can get service . . . . Until the other people call in of course.Windstream sucks and they are the only provider where I live.
Our internet goes down a lot and we have to call them especially on the weekends then all of the sudden after we call our internet comes back up.
I think they shut connections off and only turn them on when you call.
They act like you have a problem on your end and try every trick in the book to lie to you when you know all they do is press a few buttons and your service magically reappears every time you call them.
It's sad because you know they are lying on the phone to you and they know that you know that after so many calls.
It got to the point where I call and they know me by name and I just say...."Hey it's me....press your magic button so my internet will come back on...thanks." Then I hang up.
Frustrating.
