Home invasion stories

Pretty standard home invasion scenario here.

4 perps, with at least one heavily armed with what appeared to be an AR. They are met upon entry with a hail of gunfire which causes them scurry away like the scum sucking cockroaches they are.

If you watch the news and read the paper the trend with most violent home invasions is that it is a "crew" of 2-4 perps. You can most definately expect to face handguns and probably at least long gun.

Read the second paragraph. The very definition of the crime involves multiple perps.

I'd be more interested in actual crime statistics to see how often it happens....assuming the FBI or some other entity keeps such things.

Link doesn't work. What's the title of the video?

I am always curious when people ask me "why do you need a gun if someone tries to carjack you ot breaks into your house?" How exactly am I supposed to tell how far they will take it? Am I supposed to be able to read there minds that they will not take it to a level that could result in harm to me or my family? What tell tale signs should I be looking for "that they don't mean no harm!!"" A while back there was a real jack-a$$ on the radio-the old 96Rock who berated a guy who shot carjacker during the attempt. The guy rants that "it was just a car" and there was no reason for the owner to shoot the purp. Really??? Gee, I guess the owner should have instead used his Jedi mind-control or the Vulcan mind-meld technique instead of shooting the poor guy!!!! I guess the owner should have let the purp shoot him first and THEN he would have known the purp meant harm!!!

If your breaking into My House uninvited, then I am in fear for my and my family's lives. I don't Brandish, I don't Threaten, and I don't fire Warning Shots. The Perps will face the consequiences, Enough Said!

Sorry, posting from my iPhone. I think it is Arizona homeowner fights off armed gunmen. The clip shows them rolling up in pimped out Chrysler 300 I think.

I have the same problem using Tapatalk and YouTube videos sometimes.

Thanks!

ETA: just watched it. I've seen that one before and that **** is scary. For some reason I thought that had to do with robbing a drug dealers house, but guess I was wrong.

I went and tried to dig up stats and it appears that the FBI doesn't have numbers on HI because it falls under robbery and other crimes like aggravated assault and it could include murder, rape, kidnapping, etc. if those crimes occurred as well. The only number I could find said 11% of robberies fit the profile of the "classic" HI.

Yeah, that's all I could find as well. I never really gave it much thought that this stuff happens as violently as it does and apparently as frequently. Seems to be the break ins that happen around here happen during the day when folks aren't at home. It definitely makes one rethink their home protection plans.....ie guns easily accessible throughout the house, etc.
