Homeschool Anyone??

Are you saying that I should have known then (when we made the choice to homeschool) that there would be X number of shootings? Even if I had known there were going to be ZERO, I still would have homeschooled just to kick the government in the nuts and give our kids a non-gov education.

Exactly.

^^ This^^

I hate having someone contradict the morals, and values I teach my kids.

Exactly.

My point was that you can't use that as a defense of your position on homeschooling. I'm not saying your thoughts are wrong I just don't see the active shooter thing being a legit defense.

I'll never forget the look on a lady's face in a store who informed me that my (then 9y old) son had a pocket knife. I told her "I know he does, is he being unsafe?" She said "no, but he has one. I'm a public school teacher and children are not allowed to have knives.." I responded "In his school, it's required." - and left her staring at us like we were painted green.

What would you guys recommend to a parent that has a 15 year old in 10th grade and a 13 year old in 8th grade? We have always thought about but never acted on home schooling. The main reason was fear of not being able to fully educate them. They both do well in school, in all honors classes. Here lately my oldest and my wife have been taking about homeschool more because my daughter can't stand the kids in school and doesn't feel challenged any more. Where would be a good place to start with programs to use. I'm just concerned it may be too late and if we do take them out that it may hurt rather than help them.

Any suggestions, comments, advise is appreciated.

My opinion it's never too late. There are some really good high school curriculums on the market if you want to go that route. I would do some research and maybe attend a homeschool convention.
