It sux you had your home broken into. I hate to think this way but it's quite possible that the thief or thieves know you and or about your gun collection. Did they ransack the house or just go for the guns?
I was thinking about that too.
I'm gonna say... "No Safe" I hope I'm wrong though.
I do woodworking. I wanted to build a 10 gun corner gun cabinet out of oak with a pistol display case underneath and a cabinet below it. Since the design was untested I built it out of pine and I'm glad I did.
When it was done I put it in the corner, put 10 long guns in it and laid out some ammo and handguns on the pistol display case. I turned the lights on and it was beautiful.
Later that same day I realized how easy it was for someone to smash it apart and take all those guns.
A neighbor offered me what I had into it and I took it, all those guns went back into the safe.
It took me weeks to build and finish, yet I had it set up for less than a day.
It's a damn shame you can't have something nice like that!
But that's the way it is, you've got to be realistic and adapt to the environment.....
Sometimes that means buying a safe or having an alarm system installed in the house with all that money you were saving for that next gun, so the collection you already have stay yours.
Sure hope they catch them!
We'll be keeping an eye out for sure brother. I hate a thief.
