How do I improve Powder Measure time?

I have a lee dispenser and works great. Wish I had spent the money and gotten it earlier. I have tested its throws against my RCBS scale, and its always dead on to the 1/10th. I have noticed that with certain grain sizes you need to adjust or it may go over, but for the most part on medium its fast enough that by the time I place the catch and move the funnel it is finishing up the next charge. Never had any luck with a manual thrower being accurate or quick. (only tried a lee though)

I tried a Lyman digital automatic dispenser a few years ago. It was ridiculous and I quickly sold it to go back to a combo of RCBS uniflow and trickler into a magnetic balance scale. I can throw accurate charges, same weight every time, and fill the case at about 4 per minute. I could never do that with the Lyman.

Not lee, Hornady. Red threw me off..

Thank you, but I am cheap. That is per caliber!! I use my trusty RCBS case trimmer when needed. Only when I get into new or range brass will it get used. I trim all my revolver cases to ensure a uniform roll crimp, but the .380, 9MM, .45 ACP etc get loaded and blasted.

For pistol I use an old Pacific (Hornady) powder measure. Long tall tube and red cast iron body. It is frighteningly accurate with Bullseye. I pour it about quarter full of powder and tap the tube to settle the powder.

I tried a Lyman 55 that was given to me and didn't like it very much. I gave it to a buddy and he loves it. Go figure. I use My Lee Perfect Powder Measure for Unique. It is perfect for that.

Try some spherical powder like Tac, I had problems throwing 4064 switched to Tac,and had no problem getting my Lee thrower down to 1/10 of a grain.
