And do you have

A job...something you do merely for a check, basically just getting paid for your time and not very rewarding.. there is little balance in family and work in fact more often then not the scale is tilted towards work because the more hours you work the more you make..

A career .. something you went went to school for or received more training to do. A career often involves more of a personal and often financial commitment from you..it gives you a little more personal as well as monetary rewards, but still just a few notches above a job..

A vocation... something you feel you are called do something you love something that balances family and work evenly.. The financial rewards are good but that is secondary to quality of life..

Most of my life I have always been between job and career and only once had what I would call a vocation something that I truly loved and enjoyed to do every day....Today I really don't have to work but have sort of gotten stuck in the job rut once again.. I think it's time to find my true vocation again life is too short..

where are most of you at......

im happy

learning a bunch, set hours, set pay, and both of my bosses are awesome

i dont think i have ever really hated a job i had

I am in a career that pays wells but isn't exactly fulfilling. I am a senior accountant for a large distribution company. Hours and pay are set but it can get very monotonous. Hoping to jump into something else in the future.

Career but its a love/hate relationship after doing it for 25yrs and I got a minimum 9-10 to go before I can hang it up.

I'm nearing the end of my working life as I may retire this year. Enjoyed most jobs I've had and have always been grateful that I was never unemployed a day in my life. In my 42 years of working, over 30 have been for the US military - active duty for 20 and 10 as a civilian which is the job I hold now. I'm an accountant for the US Army...

i have a job, but its a job I like, well except for the travel. Working at a start-up is fun, and lots of work, and sometimes frustrating.

If I had a choice, I would renovate houses, and flip them/rent em/buy and fix up, but I dont have the capital for that right at the moment.

I can safely say at 52[almost] I have had a few I hated..LOL

well looking back there were a few i wasnt thrilled with

but thats the thing, if i have a job i hate or dislike i just find another

i dont know how or why people have a hard time finding a job (its finding a job you really like that takes some time)

must be nice not to ever have to work out of necessity. been working since i was 14 at some real terrible jobs. construction, warehouse stock, toilet cleaning, etc. i worked at walmart in college stocking the freezers at the warehouse. worst job ever as far as the working conditions. most humiliating job i had was cleaning porter potties and toilets at a park in the inner city. learned real quick i wasn't made out to be physical laborer
