how do you feel about what you do for a living?

Beginning my career with a county dot (1 yr so far) and I really enjoy holidays, set pay, set hours, and all of my skills I've learned but I honestly want to change careers... But I guess it pays the bills and is better than what I started out with

Had a job most of my life but went back to school at night about 10-12 years ago and now have a career. I work close to home and have some super employees who make my life a lot easier than I deserve.

I have had a job, a career and a vocation. Now, I am retired and find that I still have a job, chasing S&W revolvers. No money to be made, but you spend a lot.

First, let me say the good: I've started working full time the Monday after my high school graduation, I'm 43 years old now, and I've never been unemployed. I thank the Lord for looking after me and my wife all these years.

Now, the not so good: All I've ever had is a job, a paycheck, a means to an end. I've worked for some real douchbags. I feel like I have grossly underachieved when it comes to my vocation. I make good money, have good benefits, vacation time, all that...but I feel like I'm a disposable piece of the machine at the company I work at.

I dream of the day I can do something I like, but because of my family's health situation, benefits are a must. So, I'm stuck.

I love working for PSA as a range officer and instructor and running Coastal Cerakote on the side. I also loved owning and operating a watersports charter and working as a charter boat captain and riding coach.

But really, I'm just happy to be employed. Lots of people aren't these days. I consider myself fortunate.

Vocation . I play in the dirt with BIG expensive equipment , use a $400,000 combine to run city chumps that think they are doing something with their $50,000 trucks off the road, know when ,and where the wildlife is moving for every hunting season, stay in the country all day everyday if I want ,don't have to put up with nagging women if I don't want ,don't have to deal with the public ,I can pee anywhere .Its all I have ever done ,and its all I want to do. O ,and did I mention hunting gear can be written off as pest control equipment .I feed the world lol
