how do you feel about what you do for a living?

I have a job. I "lucked" into getting a job in manufacturing for a company ran by great people that pays more than pretty much anything else I could just go and get. I'm not complaining.

Now though, 10 years later I'm bored with it, pushing 30 with no other skills or experience. Right now I am planning to go back to school and try to work my way into an office job for the company I already work for. Maybe in IT or accounting.

Stay at home dad with a 9 and 12 year old, what's there not to love! Multiple naps during the day and unlimited Starbucks! Only problem is my allowance is not as much as I would like! I have to save up if I want a new toy, she won't just give me the money.

Somewhere between vocation and career. I really enjoy what I do (auto tech), good at it too but management and their politics really makes me want to toss in the towel.

Been in commercial printing over 30 yrs. Loved it for years. Now it's just a job. Everything is run by bean counters now. Don't seem to understand about craftsmanship just numbers. Hope I can survive it about 10 more years.

It's been a career. I trained for it in the service. Almost 30 years in an industry that will grind you up. It's been challenging, difficult, at times brutal but also very rewarding. The money is good and that the reason that I got into it and stayed with it. I have worked hard all of my life but physically my body is slowing down and the pain of all of the years of abuse is setting in. I hope to be able to push it out for 5 more years and then retire to a quiet spot. I'm sure that I will look back on it as a good life but for now, I'm just still grinding.

Just hit 10 year mark. HAve the itch to move on but I am real estate poor and could not find a place that pays me this well. Spent 20 years to get here. You kind of get stuck. If I was single no problem moving on. LOL
