One Garand is an IHC and another is a 28,000 with a 4-45 barrel.

I sprayed an old rifle yesterday with brake cleaner got every bit of grime off as well as every drop of lubricant!

I made sure to oil and grease liberally (parkerized).

I made sure to oil and grease liberally (parkerized).
I've found kerosene to be my grease/cosmoline remover of choice. it's cheap, works quickly, and is reusable.

I have to figure out a better way to clean a stock though. There is some staining by the butt pad, as if the rifle was dunked in grease/wax/cosmo and it seeped in as the rifle was sitting upright.

In for technique . Denatured alcohol is what I use.
