How is the milsurp market these days?

M1 Carbine, but no Garand!

They took the day off w the rest of the carbines. Only so many can fit in the combat Prius.

Today the Rockola got to play!

Trying to clean up another Garand that had a terrible looking stock that has two markings I don't know what they indicate or mean. I have sort of cleaned the stock and will post pics. On the elevation knob is a FZ between the 9 and 10 and a R between the 8 and 9 on the knob. Also there is a P at 9 o'clock and a O at 12 o'clock on the gas plug. ONly mark on stock is the normal P and a 1 A behind the butt plate.

All the other parts have an SA on them although I didn't take the trigger assemble apart. It is SA as well as safety and one other part where I can see the SA. Op rod is cut and SA. The rifle is a 5-43 with the original barrel marked 5-43 and ME/TE are 1+/2+ which to my thinking doesn't correlate well with the condition of the stock which not only was covered with maybe motor oil but has many indentations like it was hit with a metal object.

You should be able to click on this and open with Adobe Acrobat. Don't know how I scanned this in and it became a PDF file. I'll have to get my son to fix it. May need Pro acrobat to convert to a .jpg file. THAT'S NOT ME!
