My son just got his number 8519,
BUT
This email is to notify you that your order has been received and you have been assigned a number through the random number generating process. You will find your number listed below. At this time, we do not have enough 1911 type pistols to complete your order. Should the Army send us another shipment of sufficient quantity, we will use those 1911 type pistols to fill the next orders in line. Please do not contact us or reply to this email at this time
My number will probably be 19,001 LOL
There is one on Gunbroker for $8,000 and it has been there for a while.
If you are patient they can be found for between $3,500 and $4,500.
I was able to snag mine with trade all in for about $3,100.
It is my most expensive MILSURP, will never pay more for anything else.
Snagged a G43 for $1,600 a while back and they regularly go for $2,500 now, same with SVT 40 bought it for $1,000 and now it is $1,500 average to get in the game. Dang $150 Mosins are going for $350. SMH.

The 'plan' is for 10,000 the first year. After a report to congress on the success/failures post initial allotment, another 10,000 per year are authorized for release to the CMP.Someone remind me how many 1911's are being released.
