How long is the process to buy a gun at Wally World?

I have a hard time buying ammo at the Wally on Dallas Highway.Nobody to wait on you.I`ve walked out a few times and bought it somewhere else.Asking for help has little or no effect.Ain`t been back since Sports Authority opened.Won`t go back for any outdoor stuff.

My buddy bought a 20GA shotgun from the Kingsland location a few years ago... Took over an hour. The manager had to come an escort us to the door, and his lazy ass didn't show forever.

The trick is to find the guy that has access to the keys.

I usually go in the evenings and I go straight to one of the managers at the front of the store and ask for chris (buford store). I haven't bought ammo in 3-4 months but its the fastest way I know of because no one is ever back there waiting to open the glass cases.

I try to avoid walmart if I can :D

Well it sounds like most of you guys got off really easy.
I went to Wal Mart with another member here to get a Remington 1187 because they had a fantastic deal. We called ahead to make sure they still had one at the $400 price. They said they had the camo one (sportsman) at that price so we loaded up and drove there. When we got there and asked to see the 1187 they said "yeah we've got another one in the back that's wood if you want to see it. When they brought it out it was an 11-87 premier high luster blue and walnut with engraving and the gold trigger for the same price. :) The girl behind the counter did not have a clue what she was doing she absolutely could not figure out the paperwork. She called for a manager who didn't have a clue either and ran a background even with a GWL and still couldn't figure out the paperwork and the stores gun policy.. Finally after a couple of hours shift change occurred and we got someone who knew more about what they were doing. After they arrived it took about another 30 minutes. We were there for between 4 and 5 hours total. Hey what can I say Some of us will put up with a certain amount of crap for a brand new Remington 11-87 premier for $400.

I agree man. Some Walmart personnel who work the firearms/ammo counter are on point...others are marginally toilet trained individuals...all depends I guess. Double check their hours too, some won't sell guns after a certain time 10pm or something...that's what someone at work told me so it's not first hand info FWIW..

never bought one there but i would guess about 3 hours......2 to find someone and 1 more while you try and explain to them how to do the paperwork........
