I took two today, because they were the two I needed to work with. Some days it's 3 or 4.

I second this, based on my experience they are too loud,not well ventilated, and they are full of idiots who barely even know how to handle their own weapons. And I can't collect my brass so thats another thing.
I usually take 4. Two concealed carry, one full size 9mm and a 22 Sig Sport. Shoot the Sig a bunch, the others as much as I need to stay competent. All fit is a backpack along with more than enough ammo for the session. That may be changing as I just bought a SR45 black....and that 45 ammo is HEAVY!
I always have a loaded cc weapon I don't shoot on me, and indoor generally the same pistol or variant of my cc and a smaller caliber (9mm or .22) for an hour or so of fun times. So 2 shooters!
I usually take 3- 9mm Glocks and a couple of .22's, sometimes I take my S&W 6904 just to blow the cobwebs out of it.....depends on how long I have to shoot. I have 15 mags each for my Glocks and load them all at home (660 Rds.), I don't like paying for range time to reload magazines. The .22's are for fun, I have a Ruger Single Six and a Buckmark Camper. I prefer to shoot at a "Good" indoor range and tend to go during the week when there are fewer people around. I have been to GA Firing Line range in the middle of the day during the week and had the range all to myself.
I sometimes go to Adairsville in middle of week and I would be the only person there. I love it there! Too bad I been busy and had been back. (Private outdoor range only).
Three, and at least one is a .22 of some sort.
