How to not get mauled by a black bear

I'll come hunt the bear

I’m not opposed to hunting the bear if it’s legal. That’s the thing though, I don’t know if it is until I see it. I would hate to step on a sleeping sow with cubs in pitch black darkness. At that point I’m not sure there’s much that would help me even if I had a gun on me. But I could be wrong, maybe black bears are sissies and I could just beat its ass with my bear hands haha. I don’t know much about bears

Your odds of getting hit by a car, or lightening, or slipping in the bath, or falling down the stairs, or stepping in a hole, on the way to your hunting area are astronomically higher than getting attacked by a bear.

As I have been struck 3 times by lightening, I'll pass on deer hunting with you.

Looks like he (or she) was laying down having a snack

I got black bears all around the house and they have never been a problem. Just yell at them and they run off. However if it’s a sow has cubs you don’t want to threaten her or the worse the cubs. My wife chased one of the porch a couple of weeks ago banging a couple of pans.
