Hunting/Fishing Cabin Build

The plan is to rent a man lift and cut the canopy of the tree off and gently work out way back to the ridge. Hopefully it’ll be light enough to winch it back upright and fell the rest. We built that cabin damn tough. Only busted 1 rafter and 1 floor joist. I’m confident we can straighten it back up. Won’t have this problem ever again tho

Thanks for the sympathy. It’s definitely a tough pill to swallow. It’s crazy tho that our 53 foot aero motor windmill from 1932 made it out unscathed!

I had to cut one off of my cabin roof similarly.
I cabled it to another tree that was upright then I whittled it away in sections starting near the roof.
Then I had enough of a section cut away that I removed the cable and cut the base of the downed tree and had enough room to fall without hitting the cabin.
