Hunting secondary sidearm?

I’ve carried the same handgun for all these years in my pack while hunting. Ruger P95DC, it heavy and bulky but I love it. My mom bought it for me when I was 18. Had to wait three years to actually be able to keep it close. So I figured why not do it now.

1911 in 10mm, just in case a hog gets to close somehow. If it's a 50yrs or less I might just use the 1911 for the deer.

Sorry no pics. I'm a dinosaur,no cell phone. I was happy to get the deer. It was a
a close shot, standing still and it was down right there. Really surprisingly little
penetration/damage but the impact must have been tremendous.
