Hey, wanted to see/hear what you all carry on your hip or chest while you hunt/fish/hike. Also curious if any of you use a weapon mounted light or not.
 
I used to carry a glock 40mos 10mm as a sidearm but found it was to much extra weight to lug around for something I never used. I now only carry what I need, rifle, knife, water, snacks......it's hunting not war.
 
I carry a 357 revolver, typically a S&W 65, just in case I need to administer a close quarters kill shot in case of poor intial shot placement.

Only had to deploy it once, rifle shot was too high and hit the deer's spine - instant drop but not death - I finished it as quickly as I could get to it but that wounded animal's bleeting haunted me for some time afterwards.
