I’m caving and getting a Glock 19.......which version?

I’ve finally decided to try the 19. Mostly used for shooting paper and home defense. I have an EDC that I am keeping.

It’s going to be stock, mostly, except for night sights. I’m not upgrading until I decide i like it.

Which version do you prefer, and why? For simplicity let’s please keep it to gen 3, 4, or 5

Gen 5 feels nice without the finger grooves. Really though, all those guns are very similar and will all serve you well.

19X for home defense, comes with night sights.

I like finger grooves so I tend to lean toward gen 3 or 4. The grip texture is nicer on the gen 4 for me but for some it’s a little too aggressive. Can’t go wrong with any of them though, gen 2-5 are all great pistols but If I had to pick one gen 3 is my go to.

For paper and home defense I would go with the 17 over the 19, and a gen 4 or 5. With that said I have tried to cave and go Glock several times. I've come to the conclusion you are either a Glock guy, or everything else. As much as I want to like them I just can't shoot them or get used to their ergonomics.

My vote is for the gen 3, but as previously mentioned, see which one you like the feel of.

Been there as well. I loved a 22 I had back in the day, that’s the only real reason I’m trying the 19 now. I tried a 43, twice, and a 42 but didn’t really like them.

Thanks. Is there a noticeable difference in the stock trigger on the 3 and 4?
