I posted up in the WTB section (usually a dead end) that I was looking for an SKS in original condition, that wasn't a Yugo (Not a fan of the gas system).
I also posted that people that had "collectible" SKSs (these exist only in the mind of the owner) and wanted $400 for their Russian could please keep enjoying them themselves.
I didn't think anything would come of it. About 30 minutes after I posted I got a PM from "alleycat" saying he had an all numbers matching Norinco, clean and ready to shoot. I won't say the price but I will say most of us would consider it a "friend" price (although alleycat and I had never spoken before) compared to the "marketplace" prices we have been seeing. And we met up today to complete the transaction.
If any of you EVER have a chance to deal with alleycat do so in the complete confidence that he is somebody you can TRUST. I really can't say enough good things.
